Warranty & Care Guidelines
At HDB Group Reno, we design and build furniture for modern Singapore HDB flats. To give homeowners peace of mind, we provide:
- 12-month warranty for hinges, runners, and standard hardware
- 5-year warranty for Blum hardware
Please note: Damages caused by improper use, accidents, or lack of care are not covered under warranty. Rectification works in such cases will be chargeable.
1. Wood & Humidity in HDB Homes
Our cabinets are made with engineered wood panels. In Singapore’s climate and HDB layouts, exposure to:
- Cooking heat from open-concept kitchens
- Cold air-conditioning in bedrooms or living rooms
may cause slight bending of panels. This is natural for wood. We maintain all gaps within 5mm industry tolerance.
2. Silicon Sealant (Common in HDB Units)
Silicon is used to seal gaps between walls and cabinets. In HDB flats with frequent aircon use or in humid bathrooms, silicon may shrink, crack, or dry up over time.
👉 Re-silicon works are not covered under warranty and will be chargeable.
3. Laminate Surfaces
Heat & Moisture: Avoid placing hot cookware or leaving water on surfaces, as laminate may bulge.
Scratches & Cuts: Chopping food directly or scratches from children’s toys are not covered.
Chipping at Edges: Laminate may chip if knocked at corners or edges; this is not included in warranty.
👉 Always use chopping boards, coasters, and heat pads.
4. Termite Awareness
Our boards are chemically treated for termite resistance. However, in older HDB estates, ground-floor units, or humid zones, termite risks from nearby furniture or units can still occur.
👉 If your flat is in a known termite-prone area, let us know before fabrication so we can apply extra protective treatment.
Care Tips for HDB Furniture Longevity
- Wipe with a soft damp cloth regularly
- Avoid leaving wet towels, kettles, or plants directly on cabinets
- Ensure good airflow in kitchens and bathrooms
- Reduce direct sunlight on laminates with curtains or blinds
